35-Year Roger Rabbit Crew Reunion

On June 21, 2023, the 35th anniversary of the premiere of Who Framed Roger Rabbit at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, a 35-Year Roger Rabbit crew reunion was held at the Tam O’Shanter in Glendale, CA.

The reunion was organized by Don Hahn and Max Howard, and about 40 members of both the London and Glendale crews attended.  The Tam O’Shanter was opened in June 1922 as ‘Montgomery’s Country House’ by Walter van de Kamp and Lawrence Frank.  The name was changed to Tam O’Shanter in 1926.  So, in addition to celebration of 35-years since the release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, we celebrated 100 years of the Tam O’Shanter.   In the 1930s it was the nearest bar to the Disney studio at the corner of Hyperion Blvd. and Griffith Park Blvd.  The animators used to call it “the commissary.”  Walt Disney had a favorite table, which is marked with a plaque.  The restaurant is packed with Scottish tartans, clan crests, and items related to Robbie Burn’s 1790 poem, Tam o’Shanter.  There are even items memorializing the link to Disney.
